Community Outreach

Our Mission Team has sent support to over 10 local community groups, non-profits, essential workers and nursing homes in response to COVID-19. Our church committed $2,500 and donors like you helped raise an additional $1,700! Thank you!

We continue to collect funds and support our community in need. If you know of an organization in need please let us know. If you would like to get involved with the Mission Team, contact Pat Patterson at pattersonp50@gmail.com.

How You Can Help

We have several ways you can get involved in our outreach. If you would like to join the Mission Team to assist with COVID-19 community relief, contact Pat Patterson at Pattersonp50@gmail.com. Other opportunities are listed below.

Donate
Make a Donation to our Community Fund Expand

Online donations can be made here. Choose the “Community Relief Fund” line item. You can also mail a check made payable to CUMC with note in the memo line for Community Relief for COVID-19. We have made contributions to a dozen organizations and people in need so far.

Send Cards to Friends and Local Organizations Expand

Write a note of encouragement for someone that you know who needs a smile. It will surely brighten their day to know someone is thinking of them right now! Send a card to one of the organizations below:

  • Laurel House, 180 W Germantown Pike #2, East Norriton, PA 19401
  • Regina Nursing Home, 550 E Fornance St, Norristown, PA 19401
  • Spring Mill Nursing Home, 2002 Joshua Rd, Lafayette Hill, PA 19444
Check on Your Neighbors and the Elderly Expand

Call your neighbors and the elderly, especially if they are alone and may need help. Many times, people are just waiting for someone to ask and they would never want to be an imposition. Check-in and see what you can do to help or simply giving a call to chat could brighten their day!

Thank and Pray for Essential Workers and the Sick Expand

Reach out to any front-line workers you know and thank them for their service - nurses, doctors, grocery store employees, delivery drivers, restaurant workers, etc. Express thanks for keeping our country running and for risking their health (and their family's health) for our benefit. Let them know you are praying for them. Also pray for anyone who has contracted COVID-19 and their families, for recovery, peace and strength.
